Lightening Melasma and Hyperpigmentation

Lightening Melasma and Hyperpigmentation

Lightening melasma and hyperpigmentation can be a difficult process. Many times after you've had a breakout or due to hormones from pregnancy you can be left with unsightly dark marks on the face that leave the complexion uneven. For some melasma and hyperpigmentation can take years to get rid of while others will have this uneven tone throughout the course of their lives. Lightening areas of uneven skin tone is not as difficult as one may think. It may take a little effort but with persistence and patience it can be done.

How To Fix Uneven Skin Tone

The first thing to do is to make sure that the skin is kept clean at all times. This can be done by gently cleansing and exfoliating the skin in the morning and the evening and making sure that you go to bed makeup free.

If you suffer from breakouts it is especially important that you use something like our Facial Whitening Brightening Toner in order to reduce oil production. Using a toner on the skin provides the skin with a more thorough cleansing in order to prevent breakouts.

The next thing and perhaps one of the most important things is to apply an all natural skin whitening cream that protects the health of the skin while fading uneven areas. This is done in the morning and evening until the marks are gone.

The last step is to make sure to protect the skin from the harsh rays of the sun. This is done by applying a sunblock before going out in the day. It is also important to avoid direct sunlight on the skin for long periods of time as much as you can. While sunblock helps to block some of the sun's rays it does not block all of them so, you do still have to practice sun avoidance. Once the skin is even toned again, it is still important to wear a good sunblock daily so as to prevent a reoccurrence of the skin discoloration.

Timeframe for Fixing Uneven Skin Tone

There is no set timeframe in which melasma or hyperpigmentation will disappear. However, if you are consistent in your routine and do the steps outlined above they will disappear sooner rather than later.
